An App was identified as a clear priority following extensive customer research. Wiggle’s customers want a single channel in which to engage seamlessly with every aspect of the company’s services – from retail, events, cycle guides, insurance, product reviews and legal. The huge growth in mobile eCommerce not only supported the business case but identified the need to get something in place…fast!
With the busy Christmas trading period fast approaching, we immediately set about designing a mobile App which would utilise as many of the assets from the company’s mobile website – thereby creating a ‘hybrid’ retail App for the first phase. A road map was also developed giving the team a clear path on future development to further enhance the App and achieve the end goal of a single channel for every aspect of the company’s services.
Phase one was submitted to the App Store in just eight weeks and in the first two weeks received over 20,000 downloads, producing significant new revenue for the company. Trending as high as #2 in the iOS category for Health & Fitness, the App has also received hugely positive reviews (average 4.5 out of 5) which is especially more impressive given it is not yet fully native. We are now continuing to work with Wiggle as its chosen App partner to develop and implement further native functionality.
